Ox and Stone

Were back brunchies!!

This week Vanessa had a little girls brunch at Ox and Stone! Ox and Stone is located on Alexander street in downtown Rochester. Here is a little bit about her experience.

We all arrived shortly after opening due to the fact that we didn’t have a reservation and we weren’t sure how busy they would be. Luckily we got sat right away but I’m glad we got there when we did because by the time we left (a few hours later) they were very busy.  

To start our experience out we got unlimited mimosas and Mexican hot chocolate! Talk about DELISH! Our service throughout our time there was great and our waitress was on top of our unlimited mimosas.

Now for the main event, the food! Ox and Stone has a unique brunch menu and we all got something different. On the table today was cornmeal pancakes which comes with house butter, seasonal jam, and maple syrup. The jam is a new favorite pancake topping of mine, I really enjoyed it! These pancakes aren’t your typically sweet pancakes they add that cornmeal which gives it a more savory vibe and the jam gives that little added sweetness you need. Also on the table was the warn olives (which came with olives and almonds tossed in olive oil and rosemary), grilled romaine salad, avocado toast which had scrambled eggs, onion, greens, and queso fresco (a Mexican cheese), and last but certainly not least a trio of salsas. All the food looked and smelled amazing. We ended up sharing the trio of salsas. All of us agreed that our favorite was the salsa verde.

Everyone enjoyed their meals and snacks just as much as I did. I would recommend coming and trying their brunch and dinner! Their dinner menu is one of my favorites. I usually get the shrimp taco and a few sharing plates. **if you have a larger party I would definitely make a reservation**

Over all always an excellent experience at this Rochester, NY hot spot!!
